The madness hasn’t abated even though Christmas is over.  Now there is a mad dash by bargain hunters looking to snatch up the discontinued holiday decor for next year, catch that semi-annual sale, return or exchange that underwhelming gift.   Retailers look to the seven day period from December 26 to January as another way to boost lackluster holiday sales and move unsold merchandise to make way for new items. 

With the rise of gift card sales this year, retailers are looking to lure shoppers to cash in on the gifts cards received with even deeper discouns.
