Snowy Monster

OK, so I was at my parents’ house this past weekend and I remembered to snap a few shots of my adorable cross-eyed, long hair Persian Himalayan cat, Snowy, aka Snowy Monster or Smelly Snowy.  She would not stay still for my camera phone and would look away as if she knew what I was up to.

I home-trimmed/shaved Snowy a few weeks ago because her fur had gotten so unmanageable.  Huge knots of fur all over her body.  This happens when she wasn’t brushed daily.  It creeped me out everytime I touched one of those lumps on her body and I knew it must’ve been so uncomfortable for her.  Snowy has already been banned from two grooming places (she hated being groomed and had bitten/clawed the groomers) and I couldn’t put another groomer or poor Snowy through another ordeal like that so I trimmed/shaved her with the help of my parents and Marisa.

Even with 3 other people helping me, it was not an easy task trimming her.  Snowy was WILD.  By the time we cut most of the knots out, my mom had broken out in a sweat and I had a gash on my finger (not from Snowy but from my mom’s scissors!!).

I will take her to a new groomer (wish me luck!) and have the professionals clean her up & finish the job in a week or so.  Here are two shots of Snowy now.
